The State Pharmaceuticals Corporation of Sri Lanka proudly commemorates the enduring legacy of Prof. Senaka Bibile, a visionary whose contribution to pharmaceutical policy and equitable access to medicines continues to inspire generations.
As part of the SPC 55th Anniversary celebrations, the Prof. Senaka Bibile Memorial Commemoration 2026 will bring together distinguished healthcare professionals, academics, university leaders, chairpersons and senior representatives of leading institutions, university students, and many other guests and stakeholders at the Sri Lanka Foundation.
A key highlight of the occasion will be the Prof. Senaka Bibile Memorial Oration, to be delivered by Professor Senaka Pilapitiya, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Moratuwa.
The event will also recognise academic excellence through the SPC Prof. Senaka Bibile Memorial Scholarships,awarded to outstanding students,continuing Prof. Bibile’s legacy of inspiring and empowering the next generation.
The commemoration will be an opportunity to honour a remarkable Sri Lankan who championed rational use of medicines, equitable access to essential medicines, and a people-centred healthcare system, while reflecting on the responsibility of carrying these values forward.
