With the noble objective of providing quality medicines to the people at affordable and reasonable prices, the State Pharmaceutical Corporation Rajya Osusala Batticaloa Branch was inaugurated and opened to the public on October 31st, 2025.
This was the 67th new Rajya Osusala Branch of the SPC State Pharmaceuticals Rajya Osusala Network, and steps had been taken to establish this Branch at No. 233–237, Trincomalee Road, Batticaloa.
Based on a concept by the Minister of Health and Mass Media, Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa, arrangements had been made to open this latest pharmacy branch in line with the special program to establish Rajya Osusala branches across the island according to the needs of the people.
This Rajya Osusala branch enabled the public to purchase high-quality medicines at reasonable prices under the services of experienced pharmacists. It is also noteworthy that the Osusala offered a special 5% discount for senior citizens, pregnant mothers, children under the age of five, and Ranaviru Virusara cardholders.
All medicines are tested in four stages at the SPC Quality Laboratory using modern technological equipment before being released to the market, ensuring that the public can purchase medicines with confidence.
