We are honored to share the highlights of a truly special event: the "Tribute to the Legacy of Professor Senaka Bibile," on February 13, 2025. This event served a dual purpose: to commemorate the 105th birth anniversary of Professor Senaka Bibile, the visionary founder of the State Pharmaceutical Corporation, and to celebrate the 51st anniversary of Colombo 07 Rajya Osusala.
The event, held at the Colombo 07 Rajya Osusala, brought together a distinguished gathering, including The Honorable Minister of Health and Mass Media, Dr. Nalinda Jayathissa, The Deputy Minister of Health, Hansika Wijemuni, Family members of Professor Senaka Bibile, SPC Chairman, Manuj C Weerasinghe, Managing Director, Mewan Sampath Subasinghearachchi, General Manager, Dinusha Dassanayake, Deputy General Managers and staff of SPC, Numerous distinguished guests from the health sector and various other fields.
The day began with a heartfelt ceremony, reflecting on Professor Bibile's profound impact on the health sector and his unwavering commitment to accessible and affordable medicine. A highlight of the event was a site visit by the Hon. Minister, Deputy Minister, and other key figures. They toured the under-construction areas of Colombo 07 Rajya Osusala, including the pharmacy, and also visited the SPC laboratory.
The event was a resounding success. It brought together those who valued Professor Bibile’s legacy and celebrated Rajya Osusala's ongoing work in carrying forward his vision.
